Desert Solitaire

When I was eight years old, I walked into the Arizona desert, alone. I never came back. This reflection is less about geography than about transformation—the moment when innocence ends and the self is forever altered. What remains is not the child who left, but the echo of that journey, carried forward in every step that followed. This painting depicts that journey.
